Inside the manufactory
The hand is part of the design.
A handle attached. A jug dipped in glaze. A line drawn in one practised movement. Every piece takes shape through the work of the people who make it.
Flaming gives colour its rhythm through loops, waves and arcs. Brush-painted motifs bring a different kind of character. Small variations are part of what makes each piece its own.
Pottery flaming in Gmunden has been part of Austria’s national inventory of intangible cultural heritage since 2021.
